Exclusive: Barney Cools enlist Set Mo for their latest Cools Cabin Fever Mix

The mixtape series, which debuted last week with Motez, aims to throw support behind Support Act's COVID19 Emergency Appeal.

It's difficult to find a clothing brand these days that are as heavily involved with the Australian electronic world than Barney Cools. Over the last few years, they've emerged a champion of Australia's bustling house and electronica worlds, with their Soundcloud for example, being littered with mixtapes highlighting some of the country's best talent: The Cools Records series, enlisting Bag Raiders and Purple Disco Machine; the Motel Cools series, featuring Polographia and Retiree; and their ongoing Poolside Ettiquite series, which features special guests in between sets by their own DJs.

Their latest series of the Cools Cabin Fever Mix, which aims to give something people to relax and dance to amongst the chaos happening right now, and stop them from going too stir-crazy from cabin fever while self-isolating and keeping safe; the perfect cure for isolation-induced claustrophobia. Additionally, it's set up as a drive to help Support Act's COVID19 Emergency Appeal below, set up by the mental health charity to ensure cash keeps coming through the music industry when it's on its last legs, and to ensure that the charity can still be present in the time of need - like now, for example.

It debuted last week with a rolling mix from Motez; an hour-long mixtape that according to an interview with the Adelaide house don, aims to bring some positivity to people's lives: "For this mix, I wanted to play music that would hopefully cheer people up. All of this music feels damn good. Whether it's a toe-tapper, jazzy bopper, slower groove or more euphoric uplifting house number, all of this should fill the room with positive energy," he explains.

Today, we're exclusively sharing the series' second mixtape, which arrives from another brilliant house act that's taken the country by storm over the last few years: Set Mo. As they explain in their accompanying interview with the site brand (which will be posted when the mixtape goes live later this week), the mixtape encompasses newfound music discovery for the duo, who are taking advantage of the downtime to search through streaming services and find new weapons for their DJ sets:

"We’re often quite busy touring and making music in the studio that it’s not always easy for us to keep on top of all the new releases coming out," they explain. "As we’ve had a bit more down time over the last few weeks we’ve spent a lot more time listening to music and discovering some great new records from artists we love. This mix is a collection of a lot of the new stuff we’ve been digging."

It's a great mix full of highlights from both electronic heavyweights and those next-up, so dive into it below, and if you've got a bit of spare cash laying around, consider donating it to Support Act's COVID19 Emergency Appeal.
