Watch: Stray From The Path - Outbreak

New Stray From The Path track Outbreak is Rage Against The Machine on roids.

They'll surely get sick of hearing this, but Stray From The Path's new song Outbreak could've been pulled straight from the soundtrack of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2…and in no way is that a bad thing. The newest track from the Long Island-based four-piece is super aggressive and its roots are firmly set in Rage Against The Machine’s funked-out, political anthems of the 90s and early 2000s. This band is exactly what heavy music needs in 2015.

Stray... have just announced that they’ve signed to Australia’s UNFD along with the details for their new record Subliminal Criminals (due out August 14) and Outbreak is our first taste. Despite the obvious similarities drawn at first listen between Outbreak and RATM, it doesn’t for a second feel cheesy or recycled. Like many tracks from Stray’s 2013 album Anonymous; Outbreak is a classy homage to a band that was a baptism into heavy music for so many of us. With booming riffs that Tom Morello himself would be jealous of and punchy vocals delivering a blunt and powerful message ('subliminal criminals/fuck this system'), Outbreak promises Subliminal Criminals to be one of the heavy albums of the year.

If you’ve forgotten why you first started listening to punk and hardcore, or perhaps you’ve started questioning why you still do, then you need to check out Subliminal Criminals when it drops, Stray From The Path are here to deliver a timely wake up call.
