After releasing her latest single of enchanting indie folk sounds Lyrebird a couple of months ago, Anna Schneider follows it up with a charming music video, premiering on Pilerats today.

Taking cues from the likes of Julia Jacklin, Faye Webster and Alice Phoebe Lou, Lyrebird sees Schneider explore platonic love and the joy and warmth of friendship in a laidback and catchy manner. Inspired by the titular lyrebird that changes it’s call to match it’s environment, Lyrebird was inspired by the social phenomenon of the Chameleon Effect, where humans do this subconsciously in different social settings.

Meanwhile, the music video for Lyrebird was a collaborative effort between local director Alex Power, cinematographer Stephanie Senior, producer Izzy Turner and stylist Olivia Tester along with Schneider herself. Filmed with the gorgeous backdrop of Yellagonga park, contrast with homely sharehouse shots, the video for Lyrebird captures the songs wholesome, platonic love feels perfectly.

Lyrebird sees Anna following-up a massive 2022 that saw her support hte likes of Noah Dillon, Tia Gostelow, Jack Davies, Dulcie, Darcie Haven, Hector Morlet and Mama Kin as well as having her single Gaslight being the number one most played song on RTRFM for the year.
