Exclusive: Treehouses unveil new single Old Friends ahead of Listener Australian support

The tour kicks off this weekend, and hits all major cities over the next couple of weeks.

Since coming across Treehouses earlier last year, the four-piece have maintained their status for us as one of the country's most interesting bands. Sliding pretty vaguely under the indie-rock banner, they delve into some harder, punk and synthy moments sometimes all in the same song. And this, combined with their blend of soaring male/female vocals and sections of spoken word really do gel together wonderfully.

Their new single Old Friends encapsulates everything we love about the band's sound, and becomes even more remarkable when you take into account the group are now spread across Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. It's legitimately thrilling stuff, and after listening to dozens of songs every day dozens of different artists across the world, it says something when a sound really makes you sit up and take notice.

Check it out below, and catch 'em supporting the USA's Listener on their Australian tour, along with a couple of shows of their own and WAMFest in November.
