After building buzz over the last couple of years with a string of singles (including releasing two in 2023), Slow Cinema kick off their 2024 with the one-two punch of new single Magic Potion and debut EP announcement (out March 8), with Magic Potion premiering on Pilerats today alongside its music video.

Expanding on the sounds we’ve heard from previous singles, Magic Potion packs vibrant guitar leads alongside a dynamic rhythm section that highlight vocalist Tyler Gibbs’ captivating vocals. Speaking on the inspiration behind their new single, the band explains "'Magic Potion' embodies the desire to break the chains of life's hackneyed constraints. The music surges around lyrical themes of escapism and the idealisation of breaking free, inviting the listener to pack their bags, close their eyes and float away."

With a band name like Slow Cinema you’d expect some cinematic vibes on the music video and the band hasn’t disappointed, with the video for Magic Potion detailing a fantastical narrative featuring a protagonist on the hunt for the Magic Potion - a copy of Slow Cinema’s new single on 7”.

Out Friday February 2, check out Magic Potion as it premieres on Pilerats:
