Born in South Africa and raised in Australia, music has been a constant in the life of Jordy Burns who's been playing cello and trumpet as well as singing since her school days. Now this lifelong passion has reached a new level as she releases her debut single Walls, out February 22 but premiering on Pilerats today!

Opening with subtle, atmospheric strings and striking piano, Burns’ commanding voice soon enters the mix on this captivating cut of epic chamber pop as she explores the all too relatable concept of letting down one’s walls a little too early.

Jordy explains "'Walls' is about heartbreak and broken trust. A person I was seeing convinced me that I was safe to open my heart and that they wanted what I wanted. As it turns out, as soon as I let down my guard, they all too quickly realised that they weren't ready to move on from their last relationship. In saying that, they continued to stay with me and we made a mess of things… it was a rollercoaster, to say the least."

Meanwhile, the poignant and gorgeously shot music video captures the powerful, emotional nature of the single, taking us on a journey from backstage to performance.
