Drawing on her background as a Melbourne Conservatorium trained musician and her current role as a music teacher across a number of disciplines is Melbourne’s Emily Victoria, who has readied her debut single Humming Heart, set for a November 10 release but premiering on Pilerats today!
An engrossing cut of wistful indie rock, Humming Heart sees a low slung, groove laden bassline and laidback drums form an appropriately chilled rhythm section that gives plenty of room to the shimmering guitar leads, sparkling synths (courtesy of the one and only Lewis Moody), with the star of the show Emily’s ethereal, enchanting vocals.
With a debut this strong, we’re excited to see what’s next for Emily Victoria - in the meantime we’ll be enjoying Humming Heart, give it a spin today before it drops November 10!
