Listen: Oakland - Into The Sea [Premiere]

Fresh indie-pop sounds outta the west.

Australia has always had a healthy stream of indie-rock outfits dabbling in the realms of dream-pop, and in the vein of acts like Gang Of Youths and MT WARNING comes WA outfit Oakland and their debut single, Into The Sea. Soaring, reverb-drenched guitar work keeps up with an incessant drum beat, all under-pinned by gentle vocals that hit the high notes when they need to. Into The Sea is the title track from a forthcoming EP of the same name, due July 17, but you can get a taste of it live much earlier, when they launch Into The Sea Saturday 6 June at Fremantle's The Odd Fellow. Click the flyer down below for more info, and keep an eye on these lads.
