Listen: Matt Corby - Monday

Listen: Matt Corby - Monday

Matt Corby domination is in bound.

The most annoying thing with Matt Corby is his continued persistence to not release an album and just release a slow trickle of EPs and singles and still manage to sell-out 5000+ crowd shows in Australia. It defies the reasoning you should put out an album in order to make it big and that's the genius of Corby. He doesn't need to have a long-player of 10-15 songs to win over Australia. He can just do it one song at a time. Monday is Corby's first song in two years, it isn't a big hitting single either, sure it has a smooth chorus and a cosy beat, but it isn't a move to grab Australia because he already has us within his grasp. Rather it seems an attempt to flex his creative muscle with the use of the southern soul choral elements. However at the very core Monday is the same Matt Corby we all know from Brother but one pushing himself within his sonic bubble. Matt Corby is also heading out a tour of Australia and that debut album is coming sometime soon but for now the dates are as follows:

2nd November @ The Tivoli, Brisbane

4th November @ HQ, Adelaide

6th November @ Metropolis, Fremantle

9th November @ Forum Theatre, Melbourne

16th November @ Metro Theatre, Sydney
