Listen: Hinds - San Diego

Listen: Hinds - San Diego

Sunny garage pop from the internet’s favourite Spanish band.

There’s something endlessly endearing about Hinds. It could be the uplifting melodies that permeate even their most scathing songs. It could be the little fuck ups on every track, the missed notes, the laughing into the mic, the shouts and cheers that let you know they probably plugged in, did one take, and then got back to doing more important things like smiling endlessly and dancing through the streets with a beer in hand (if their constantly updated social media photo diary is anything to go by).

That’s not to undermine the rare talent Hinds possess to take simple songs and inject hooks into every goddamn square inch of them, and their new single San Diego’s probably the purest version of this phenomenon. After we already caught the bug on previous single Garden, this latest two-and-a-half-minute good time is perfect for hitting repeat on endlessly while you jump around your bedroom in your underwear; possibly drunk. Probably drunk.
