Holy Holy shake things up on new single Faces, drop Aus tour dates

The much-loved Aussie duo are expected to release their third album sometime next year, and it's already shaping up to be a ripper.

It hasn't been too long since we last heard from Holy Holy, but god, it's felt like years. After dropping their acclaimed second album Paint back in early 2017, the Australian duo have been pretty damn heavily touring for much of the time since, only stopping towards the start of this year to get to work on its long-awaited, 2019-expected follow-up. Produced by Holy Holy themselves, mixed by Rich Costey (Arctic Monkeys, Chvrches, Muse, HAIM, Franz Ferdinand) and featuring guests such as Japanese Wallpaper, Ali Barter and Ainslie Wills, their forthcoming third album is set to see the duo shake things up a touch - at least, if its first tease Faces is anything to go by. Arriving today with a full national tour to come, Faces welcomes a more electronic-leaning side of Holy Holy that sees their signature guitar reduced to only a slight shading, with the soft and slight synth of Japanese Wallpaper coming through instead as Holy Holy add layer after layer on the growing track.

There's still that classic Holy Holy vocal charm though, which this time around, feels more epic and festival-ready than ever as Barter and Wills through in their voices in the background - further adding to the dense and thick sound of the single which really kicks off the road to album number three at a high point. Lyrically, Faces explores some pretty serious issues too, something we'll frontman Tim Carroll explain for you: "It’s a snapshot of what it is to be alive at the moment, all these different lives interacting," he says on the single. "I was a social worker; I used to work in refugee settlement. It continually shocks me that these people, including children, are still in indefinite detention. When they started separating families at the US/Mexican border, and there was a public outcry, what we’re doing in this country is as bad as that.

Check out the single below, and be sure to catch them on an extensive national tour through November/December with special guests CLEWS and San Mei. Dates below, more information and tickets HERE.
