The 10 Best Music Videos of the Week | 2023 Week 18

Featuring new sights and sounds from Body Type, Claud, Confidence Man x Daniel Avery, Knower and more!

Music videos are artistic extensions of the songs themselves, with many visual accompaniments becoming just as, if not more iconic than the song it was created for. As usual, some of our favourite songs of the week also had some of our favourite videos, with this week's list including new singles & videos from African Head Charge, Alan Palomo feat Mac Demarco, Anna St. Louis, Body Type, Claud, Confidence Man x Daniel Avery, Hand Habits, Knower and The Finks!

African Head Charge - A Bad Attitude

Awesome trippy, psychedelic 60s-inspired animations are the order of the day on the video for the latest single from the long-running duo of master Jamaican percussionist Bonjo Iyabinghi Noah and veteran English dub producer Adrian Sherwood. African Head Charge's new album A Trip To Bolgatanga is out July 7 via On-U Sound.

Alan Palomo - Nudista Mundial ’89 feat . Mac Demarco

Easily our fave video of the week is the 8-bit retro video game-style video for Palomo's (fka Neon Indian) first new music in four years. The Leisure Suit Larry-inspired video sees Palomo and collaborator DeMarco on a series of delightfully bizarre adventures in Ibiza.

Anna St. Louis - Better Days

Gorgeous (and appropriately) American country landscapes with St. Louis playing her trusty acoustic comprise the charming video for the latest single of chilled Americana from Anna's first album in five years. Anna St. Louis' new album In The Air is out June 9 via Woodsist / Mare.

Body Type - Weekend

Sydney/Eora four-piece latest rocking earworm sees retro-VHS style footage of the band rocking out to their new single interspersed with some sunny weekend-feeling shots outside. Body Type's new album Expired Candy is out June 2 via Poison City.

Claud - Every Fucking Time

The first artist to sign to Phoebe Bridgers' Saddest Factory Records, Claud announces their sophomore album with an atmospheric new anthem alongside a melancholic-turns-uplifting video. Claud's new album Supermodels is out July 14 via Saddest Factory Records.

Confidence Man & Daniel Avery - On & On (Again)

Aussie electro-pop duo team up with influential English producer for a stomping track that combines elements from pop and the underground with a hyperactive, performative & stylish music video.

Hand Habits - Private Life

Contemplative, reflective vibes on both the new single of stripped back piano sounds and the emotional, cinematic music video from Meg Duffy's forthcoming new record. Hand Habits' new album Sugar The Bruise is out June 16 via Fat Possum.

Knower - I'm The President

Hot on the heels of Geneive Artadi's new solo album out in March (and Louis Cole's last record out October 2022, both on FlyLo's Brainfeeder imprint), our favourite jazzy experimental pop duo Knower are back with a classic Louis Cole live "in-house" music video with a full brass band (and LA new jazz lords Sam Wilkes on bass and Jacob Mann on keys, as usual). Knower's new album KNOWER FOREVER is out independently on June 2.

Little Dragon - Kenneth

Beloved Swedish indie-electro-art-poppers announce their seventh studio album with a charming new single of indie-meets-r&b flavours, alongside another retro, psychedelic animated video, channelling vibes from Fantastic Planet.

The Finks - Kemp-Prosser colour cure

Cleverly utilising an early 60s Australian short-film (or advertisement!?) about coffee, Melbourne's The Finks hit peak Australian nostalgia on the video for their beautifully mellow and melodic new single of indie-folk sounds. The Fink's new album Birthdays at Solo Pasta is out July 7 via Milk! Records.

Enjoy all these tunes as well as our favourite singles of the week and a stack of other new music we've been feeling in our Office playlist, updated (almost) daily.
