Framed: Gary Baseman

There's a good chance you will have encountered the work of Gary Baseman. After all, the Los Angeles-based artist has provided illustrations for an extensive list of clients including Rolling Stone, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, as well as the board game Cranium. His animations have earned Emmy and BAFTA awards, alongside an extensive career in painting, performance and film. Today we're here to delve into his personal sketchbook, and see the beginnings of a process that creates much-loved characters.
