Here's your first speakers announcement for WAMCon 2019

Featuring reps for Secretly Canadian, triple j, UNSW and more.

We've already spoken about the plethora of West Australian talent set to showcase at this year's WAMFest, with the lineup covering the exciting next generation of basically every sound bubbling amongst Perth and the greater WA area from hip-hop and pop to heavy rock and indie (revisit the full lineup HERE). However, there's a tonne more on offer across the November 1st/November 2nd weekend as a part of the greater WAMFest/WAMCon/WAMAwards programme, and with the festival lineup now out the way, it's time to get to business.

Returning to it’s home at the State Theatre of Western Australia, this year's WAMCon promises to cover some of music's most pressing issues - and some topics a little more light and enjoyable - alongside music industry heavyweights from Perth, Australia and beyond. Internationally speaking, there's Ground Control Touring (USA) agent Timmy Hefner, Secretly Canadian’s (USA) Bri Aab and Prophecy Records XX (USA) agent Archie Hamilton, who together, work with many of the world's most exciting acts. Meanwhile, back home, representatives from Media Arts Lawyers, FBi Radio, Collective Artists, Native Tongue, Double J, triple J, Vita Artists, New World Artists and UNSW will also make the trek west for the industry conference/festival.

Elsewhere, all the trademark WAMCon favourites will be making a return in 2019 as well. The annual Bookers & Burgers event will see Perth institution The Bird filled with music bookers and... burgers... as the title suggests, in a fully-catered event which has seen some of WA's best musicians find their way east at the hands of touring agents, while musicians will have the chance to pitch to reps for Double J, triple j, FBi and RTRFM in their annual radio pitching sessions. Music Industry Speed Dating will pair artists off with booking agencies, record labels, publishing companies, music media, artist managers for rapid advice, while the Quay Note Boat Party is bound to be as loose as usual.

WAMCon returns to the State Theatre of WA on Friday 1st – Saturday 2nd November as part of WAMFest 2019. Earlybird tickets are on sale from the 28th August via Eventbrite until 30th September - find more information HERE.
