RTRFM's Radiothon kicks off today!

A 23-strong locals contingent is taking over five Northbridge venues this weekend.

Perth community radio station RTRFM are once agian holding their annual Radiothon this August, kicking off Friday the 14th and running for 10 days until Sunday 23rd August. Community stations rely on community support to continue running throughout the year, and Radiothon is their RTRFM's 10-day chance to really hammer the point home with a fundraising drive, a shit-load of prizes and of course the Radiothon party on Saturday 15 August. As far as prizes go this year’s top prize is the ultimate WOMADelaide experience, including backstage passes for you and a friend to the iconic four-day festival, accommodation at one of Adelaide’s best boutique hotels, plus return flights to Adelaide. There's also a $3,000 home solar package, RTRFM feature album bounty and a heap more.

In terms of Saturday's party vibes, here's what you're looking at:

Jimmy’s Den hosts a line-up of hard rock heavyweights, including The Love Junkies, Pat Chow, Puck, Scalphunter and Surf Rabbits.

The Bird is the word for psychedelic explorations with Mugwump, Rat Columns, The Spunloves, Verge Collection and DJ Tanya Bunter (Drivetime).

The State Theatre of Western Australia’s expansive Studio Underground foyer hosts a special Radiothon-themed edition of local talk show Magnolia’s Late Night Live, hosted Tristan Fidler and Matt Aitken, followed by live sets from Heathcote Blue, The Leap Year, Red Jezebel and The Kill Devil Hills bringing the noise until well past midnight, with RTRFM’s Homegrown DJs closing out the night.

Punters seeking dance party vibes should head to Connections Nightclub for Andrew Sinclair vs Rok Riley, Splash Bros., Catlips and The Monarchy DJs.

Or finally you can pop into the Lounge on William Street to chill and/or boogie to the sounds of Woodstock Rock DJs, Golden Apples DJs and {MOVE} DJs ‘til 2am.
