Courtney Barnett and Tame Impala sweep the 2015 ARIA awards

You go Glen Coco, 4 ARIA's for you, Glen Coco!

Whilst overall I'm not really that entertained with music award ceremonies, the ARIA Awards are pretty darn special mainly due to the fact that it's the only award ceremony where another Aussie aside from Tame Impala pick up awards. Tonight, the 2015 ceremony went down and much to the surprise of everyone (sarcasm), Tame Impala and Courtney Barnett absolutely killed the competition, as everyone saw coming.

Controversy regarding her J Award win aside (although in our opinion, she deserved it as Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit was fucking amazing), Barnett grabbed four awards, including 'Breakthrough Artist' and 'Best Female Artist' and Kevin Parker and his holy Impala-named crew scored 'Best Rock Album', 'Best Group' and the 'Album of the Year' for their obviously amazing third album Currents. Aside from this, Swift tour bud Vance Joy took out 'Best Male Artist', the RÜFÜS crew took out 'Best Dance Release' (check out our recap of their Australian tour HERE) and Jarryd James swept up the pop-related categories. Much to the dislike of a very vocal social media crowd, One Direction took out 'Best International Artist', 'Best Australian Live Act' went to 5 Seconds of Summer and almost as if it was 2006 again, The Veronicas took out 'Best Music Video'.

Check out the full list of winners below, courtesy of the Music Feeds crew (mainly because I'm too lazy to write this out for myself).
