Castaway Festival announces return with Gang Of Youths, Jarryd James and more

A day on Rottnest Island you'll be beachy keen for.

After four previous events that have seen the likes of Sticky Fingers, Peking Duk, Golden Features, What So Not and more grace the stage, Castaway Festival is returning to Rottnest Isand once again this coming December with a lineup of some of Australia's heaviest hitters in Gang Of Youths, Jarryd James and Bag Raiders (Live).

Taking in the Rottnest Island Hotel and its beachfront at Thompson's Bay, Castaway has proved a winning combo of beach, bands, beats, beverages and best mates for the past two WA summers, and it doesn't look like slowing down any. Headliners Gang Of Youths are absolutely on one at the moment, after a blistering mainstage set at Splendour In The Grass and just releasing a brand new EP, Let Me Be Clear, they're very quickly becoming one of the country's most exciting bands. Likewise, Jarryd James has just released his own new EP, featuring recent hit and Broods-collab, 1000x, and playing to some v-large crowds here and abroad. Finally, Bag Raiders recently wrapped up a massive Aussie tour celebrating the release of a few EPs of late, bringing equal parts nostalgia and dancefloor good times with their full live band.

Joining them on the local front will be one of WA's young gun producers, Palace, who we've covered plenty on Pilerats, most recently THIS fresh af remix for Duke Dumont's Night Drive. And there's one last act TBA.

It hits Rottnest Island Sunday December 11, click the pretty picture below to snag yourself a ticket from this Thursday 11 August, 'cause that shit tends to sell out real quick.
