2023 Australian Independent Record Labels Association Award Nominees Revealed

The AIR Awards and Indie-Con Australia Conference return to Adelaide this August

Celebrating and recognising some of the best independent Australian music released over the last year are the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) Awards, who today have announced their nominees for 2023.

With nearly 20 categories covering everything from Best Children's Album to Best Metal Album and Breakthrough Artist of the Year, the 2023 nominees will have the chance to join previous winners including the likes of Genesis Owusu, Courtney Barnett, Vance Joy, Flume, Sampa the Great, Amyl and the Sniffers, A.B Original, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and many, many more.

Supported by the South Australian Government, the Awards will be held at the UNESCO City of Music this year on August 3, alongside the Indie-Con Australia Conference. Minister for Arts Andrea Michaels MP said: “The Malinauskas Government is proud to support the AIR Awards and Indie-Con Australia Conference in 2023. It is fantastic to be hosting the awards here in Adelaide – Australia’s only UNESCO City of Music - and I congratulate all of the nominees. It’s a wonderful opportunity to recognise the work the independent music industry does in providing talented and emerging artists and music businesses with a platform to share their art with a wider audience.”
