Sydney-based hip hop duo Coda Conduct are quickly becoming one of the Aussie success stories for this year. Seemingly appearing out of nowhere with their debut EP Butter Side Up, the duo have gone on to earn themselves a slot on the Canberra leg of this years Groovin The Moo, as well as support slots on tours with Tkay Maidza, Thundamentals and others.
They’ve followed it up with Paint It Gold, a smooth, yet funky, hip hop number featuring the two rappers on vocals. Their polished vocal work glides over an easy-going beat, brimming with chimes, claves and a wicked brass-filled bass line. It’s a more refined production for the duo compared to their previous stuff, with Paint It Gold drifting into a direction more dependent on the beat than the rapping, a direction we’re really liking.
