Premiere: Delve into the world of high energy club with four new remixes from Simo Soo

The new bootleg EP includes quick-paced cuts of originals by Flume, Troye Sivan and more.

Between the recent insurgence of club music in Australia thanks to the Sidechains gang and the crew at NLV Records, we've seen a whole bunch of lovely coconuts emerge from the darkness with fresh, largely unexplored sounds, including the likes of Oh Boy, Lewis Cancut and more. Today we see the arrival of Sydney's own Simo Soo, a new emerging talent pushing these high-energy club sounds with a new, four-track bootleg EP. Including remixes of Fifth Harmonies' Work From Home, Troye Sivan's break-out Youth, Flume & Tove Lo's spell-binding Say It and Ariana Grande's Let Me Love You, Simo Soo's Sweet Dreams 2017 compilation is Australia's take on club music at its finest, indulging us with quick-paced, high-octane remixes that inject you full of life and energy from the get-go. Speaking about the package's curation, he says "this year I've laid pretty low on releases which is pretty rare for me (I've only released one song of original Simo Soo music, a collab with Baltimore's Abdu Ali). In March I was diagnosed with ADD and apart from the personal realisations that came with that, it made me have a big look at myself as a musician. Was I releasing tons of music because I had no attention span, was I leaving things unfinished just so I could get to the next thing? Being medicated I came to see my music differently, I had no idea just how maximalist what I'd been doing was. I created a sound of my own based around untreated ADD and purposely not learning the 'rules' of electronic music making and singing and ultimately realising, although subconsciously, I was making the sounds I had wanted to make all along. I don't sound like anyone else and this is fine but now with the gift of controlled thought, I don't have to struggle so hard to make this sound happen. Sweet Dreams 2017 is me taking on four of my favourite pop songs this year and running them through the filter of myself and spitting them out as a new creation. I am so focused, I can see where I'm going from here and this cheeky bootleg remix EP is a lil' gift to all who've fucked with me so far and some tiny foreshadowing into where I'm going from here."
