Listen: Gavin James - The Book Of Love (JOY. Rework) [Premiere]

Prepare to swoon.

Gavin James is an Irish singer/songwriter whose first track - a cover of The Magnetic Field's The Book Of Love - is already tracking over 2 million streams on Spotify and copping a heap international radio play. He's kind of the mould of an Ed Sheeran type - if we were to lump fair-haired solo musicians into the same pile. Introductions aside, Brissie producer Olivia McCarthy AKA JOY. decided she'd have a tinker around with the song, literally, adding some delicate piano in place of the original version's acoustic guitar. She's also let James' voice take centre stage til about the halfway mark when things take a turn for the epic, adding some soaring coo's of her own to the mix in a tear-jerker of a breakdown, which comes back at the end and probably adds to many feels for one to deal with on a Monday:
