10/10 Would Listen: Brodinski

Brodinski offers his 10 favourite Atlanta-based rappers.

Currently celebrating the release of his new album, Brava, Brodinski has decided to take it upon himself to educate people about one of the stars of said album i.e. the Atlanta rap scene. It features plenty of guests out of the southern American state, melded with Brodinski's French electronic tastes, dipping between trap, techno, house and more. It's a seriously killer LP, and the list below highlights some of those vocalists that appear on the album, along with a few other selections worthy of your collection:

GUCCI MANE - COLORS

Probably my favorite Gucci Mane track ever, it’s a classic for me. Off the WILT CHAMBERLAIN mixtape series.

ANDRE 3000 - SHE LIVES IN MY LAP

3 Stacks from Outkast did one of my favorite song ever. Listen to the whole album (Speakerboxx/The Love Below), it’s a master piece.

BLACK PORTLAND - SUCK ME UP

Ola Playa joins Young Thug & Bloody Jay for this track on their Black Portland common project. I had the chance to work with Bloody Jay on my album and he's an amazing person and artist!

YOUNG THUG - CHICKENS [PROD. LONDON]

Difficult to choose only one Young Thug track but I remember being obsessed with this one when it came out and I still love it.

CASINO - EAZY [PROD. DJ MUSTARD]

Casino is affiliated with FBG and Future. It’s produced by the infamous DJ Mustard from LA, this one is perfect for clubs!

GUCCI MANE - SCHOLAR

As I said, Gucci Mane is my favorite rapper… Guwop (one of his nickmanes) is for me the Trap God, the biggest figure in Atlanta in 10 years.

RICHIE HOMIE QUAN - WATER

Taking a break from the Rich Gang project he formed with Birdman & Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan come back alone with this track talking about water. We all need some.

FUTURE - NUNBOUT FEAT. COOLEY [PROD. ZAYTOVEN]

This one is taken from his mixtape Astronaut Status that came out in 2012. Future and the producer Zaytoven are one of the best tag-teams in Atlanta.

PEEWEE LONGWAY - CHEET PRINT

Peewee is one of my favourite rappers for a while now and I especially like this one, which includes a James Bond theme sample. Longway Longway.

JOHNNY CINCO - NO TRUST

I love Johnny's voice, and I think this track is his most achieved work. People call him the hood Drake.
