Victorian-based producer and vocalist Zoe Marshall is back as MOZË with the infectious, feel-good soulful, funky sounds of Albert St. which alongside its colourful & choreographed music video is premiering on Pilerats today!

Opening with sparkling keys and MOZË’s enchanting vocals, Albert St. gives way to sexy sax lines, a groove laden rhythm section with an irresistible bass line and funky guitars coming together to make an upbeat & danceable cut of soulful, poppy goodness.

MOZË speaks on the the inspiration behind Albert St., saying “In 2022, my friends hosted the iconic 'Albert St. Affair' house party in Brunswick. They asked some friends to perform, and even built a stage. Hours before the event, I felt inspired to create a song called 'Albert St.' Its lyrics capture the essence of that unforgettable night, celebrating friendship and a montage of moments. The great thing about that time in Melbourne was how positive it was, people were so grateful to be out of lockdown, and we weren't bitter about the years lost. At the end of the song is a very special live sample from the actual party, it was the first time Albert St. had been played and you can even hear everyone singing along.”

Meanwhile, the music video that was filmed by Sam Higham in Yálla-birr-ang/Collingwood and directed and edited by MOZË herself sees the energy match the track with a party atmosphere. "Drawing inspiration from Betty Boop and the early aesthetic of Kimbra, the concept behind the video was to encapsulate a vibrant display of friendship, quirkiness, and celebration. In addition to capturing the essence of north-side Melbourne, the support and involvement of my friends were invaluable in bringing forth another version of an Albert St. Affair” explains MOZË.
