Recently signing to Sunroom management (sweater curse, Hope D, Bugs), fresh from a BIGSOUND showcase last week, and currently on tour with Boorloo/Perth’s Noah Dillon, Asha Jefferies shares her first new release of 2022, an introspective pop tune title; Tank Tops. Already receiving a lot of love from the likes of triple j, the release comes alongside a delightfully warm music video, which you can be the first to watch today right here.

Produced by Ball Park Music’s Sam Cromack, Tank Tops is a bright and celebratory moment for the singer-songwriter, sharing “It’s a song that means so many things to me - it’s personal, it’s about my identity, but it also marks a distinct change in how I make music. A new producer in Sam Cromack, a new band collaborating and letting it be an intuitive process when it comes to recording - community has played a huge part in this story. Most of all, this song is incredibly personal. It’s a song about entering a new phase in my life and how my queer identity has taught me to love.”

With scenes doused in sunshine featuring a beaming Asha dancing around streets and having a beer with her friend ‘George’, it’s a joyous, euphoric visual accompaniment to document the change, discovery and love Tank Tops represents.

Of the video, Jefferies says "We filmed this on a beautiful Sunday afternoon throughout my home and down my street in Meanjin, with it’s leafy stunning verandah and featuring my best friend George. This song is about freedom and expressing who you are to the people around you."

Premiering below, be sure to give the official video for Asha Jefferies latest single Tank Tops a watch below.
