After the departure of half the band Bloc Party are back with their first material since 2013's Ratchet and the song in question is titled The Love Within. A lot was riding on this single I'd like to say as it really tested where the versatility of Bloc Party rested. And from this song it's not with the band that's left. The Love Within takes the repetitive style of their songs, a guitar riff or a beat that was looped and then layered on over time, but just completely messes that up by adding in what sounds like a demented organ flapping around. It's awful. And to have one element throw off an otherwise decent return from Bloc Party is disheartening. Albeit it leans more towards the sounds of Kele's solo career because the heavy riffs of Bloc Party have gone. Bloc Party are also planning to release a yet to be titled album in 2016. Bloc Party will be coming to Australia for Falls and Southbound so lets hope their rest of album isn't like this and more like Ratchet, Helicopter, Hunting For Witches and One More Chance.
