Framed: Sketchy Stories (Kerby Rosanes)

The elaborate, whimsical illustrations of an internet sensation.

24-year old Filipino artist Kerby Rosanes is known to over a million Facebook followers as Sketchy Stories. He drew avidly in high school, scrawling across math notes like the rest of us, only Rosanes' doodles ended up scoring illustration clients such as Nike and Ford years down the track. While working in online marketing for a local company, he utilised break time to hone his drawing skills, and it was certainly time well-spent. He developed a series of illustrations in Moleskine notebooks that captivated the web. Not long after, Rosanes took the leap into fulltime freelancing. His black-and-white sketches are of a mindblowing calibre, with intense attention to detail. Recurring characters, tireless linework and a unique style make his ink drawings intricate and whimsical, experimenting with the multitudes of ways that tiny elements can be put together to form an elaborate piece. We're digging his work, and seriously recommend following him with the social media links below.
