Framed: Old Mates, New Phones - Exhibition Opening

An exhibition by emerging Perth artist Shannon McCulloch.

Shannon McCulloch is an emerging local artist who explores concepts of mateship and masculinity throughout his work. A rising talent and the recent winner of the City of Nedlands' Emerge Art Prize, McCulloch is heading to Paris this year to complete a degree in fine arts. Old Mates, New Phones is a solo exhibition of mixed media drawings and oil paintings that introspect "the hedonistic rituals and debaucheries prevalent in adolescent male social groups" within the context of contemporary life, where these activities are documented and celebrated through internet culture. Sponsored by Gage Roads Brewing Co, the show opens tomorrow night at 6pm and runs until the 24th of January at Moores Gallery.
