Karla Wangkiny takes over YMCA's HQ for all-ages beatmaking & DJ workshops this Sat

Along with performances from Baby Kool, Troy Junior, WOMPP and more.

KARLA WANGKINY (Fire Talks) is a new WA-based collaborative project embracing musicians from Aboriginal and CaLD backgrounds, with the aim of creating new and future opportunities through mentoring, workshops and gigs. Kicking off last year, they're holding their first event of 2018 - Fire Tongues at YMCA HQ Leederville - a free afternoon of smooth bedroom rap from local talented MCs and DJs. There'll also be DJing and beatmaking workshops from midday.

Playing on the day in the YMCA HQ courtyard will be WOMPP DJs, Multi-Cult, Baby Kool and Troy Junior, who just dropped the below little ditty only a couple of days ago:

It's all part of Leederville's 2018 Fringe World Program - LeedyPalooza, and as it's at YMCA HQ, there will of course be basketball and skateboarding going down if that tickles your fancy - all the info can be found HERE.
