Listen: Troy Samuela & Monsoonsiren - Fiend

The first tune released under Odesza’s brand new label.

It’s pretty safe to say that American electronic duo Odesza have had a pretty mammoth year. Following the realese of their latest album In Return, the duo has played pretty much every festival ever, scored a mammoth 20 #1’s on Hype Machine, and now will be expanding their resumes, having started their own record label, Foreign Family.

The first release from the Foreign Family crew is Fiend, a new colab between New Zealander Troy Samuela and Indian producer Monsoonsiren. Fiend features Samuela on production duties, taking his synth-heavy and hip hop-infused beats and layering them under the haunting vocals of Monsoonsiren, and despite the strange pairing, it comes off pretty damn well. Fiend is only the tip of the iceberg for Foreign Family, with a ton of new releases set to drop throughout the rest of the year.
