Listen: Crooked Colours - Step

WA trio Crooked Colours release Step, the newest single from their forthcoming debut album.

After charming us with the bouncy Another Way, West Aussies Crooked Colours have been pretty quiet, but now we know why. The trio have announced their debut album, to be released via the Sweat It Out boys later this year and their newest single, StepStep is the middle ground between the light and bouncy Another Way and their dark, brooding single Capricious, with front man Phil Slabber's vocals flying over a quiet, atmospheric build, before it all unleashes with a synth-heavy drop. Step is a step back from the in-your-face sound of some of their previous work, but still manages to sound real nice and juicy. To celebrate the single release, the electronic trio will be setting off to the US for a few dates, before returning back to Australia for two, extremely limited, Halloween-themed shows.
