Watch: Baby Velvet - What The Hell Is Wrong With Me

A video that is literally a work of art, accompanying the latest single taken from the Naarm based artists forthcoming LP.

Out of Naarm/ Melbourne comes activist and musician Hannah Crofts aka Baby Velvet, and her latest single What The Hell Is Wrong With Me. Touring the world as one quarter of the indie folk group All Our Exes Live in Texas, Baby Velvet sees Hannah reflecting inward and utilising her soaring vocals with gritty and heart-wrenching songwriting to make everything around her sparkle poetically.

The latest track comes ahead of May's album release, a collection of composition exploring heartbreak, self-doubt, and the darker realities of being a touring musician, produced by LA legend Kevin Ratterman and Naarm royalty James Gilligan. What The Hell Is Wrong With Me orchestrates simmering guitars, grinding bass, and rolling beats to back Hannah’s glimmering vocals and sensational harmonies, that reach beautifully captivating heights as she exclaims “what the hell is wrong with me, I can’t give up and I can’t give in, where does that leave me?”.

Describing the inspiration for the single, Hannah shares “I kissed a guy in Texas once who kissed tongue first – I swear his tongue hit me 5 mins before his lips got there - someone’s recently told me this is called ‘Rolling Out The Red Carpet'. And I thought, maybe I’m the one who has been kissing wrong all these years? This song is about breaking up and looking around at other people and thinking, how are you doing it?! How do other people have long term partners? Long term relationships? Jobs. Houses. Families. Pets. What the hell is wrong with me? I have been joking though, since my most recent break up, of changing the name to Who The Fuck Would Break Up With Me?”

Accompanied by a video that is a literal work of art - letting the paintings do all the talking, delve into What The Hell Is Wrong With Me ahead of the Please Don’t Be In Love With Someone Else album release May 27th.
