Video Premiere: PEPTALK - Close Friend (Live at The Scott's House)

Take a first watch of the Eora/Sydney-based indie pop three piece’s intimate & electric live version of their latest single

Continuing their recent hot streak is Sydney-based indie pop trio of Jay-Lee Kwan, Lara Frew and Phoebe Sinclair AKA PEPTALK who have readied an awesome live version and video for their latest single Close Friend, out July 25 but premiering on Pilerats today!

The release of Close Friend a few weeks ago came after some big moves from the bend, including a feature with LDRU on his single Along Again, Lara and Phoebe being handpicked by Troye Sivan and Lucas Keller to participate in APRA AMCOS' queer songwriting camp in conjunction with World Pride and Sydney Mardi Gras, and landing on a myriad of playlists across a number of platforms.

Explaining the inspiration behind their latest single the band said “Lara was adopted by missionaries on a mission trip. 'Close Friend' is about her childhood crush on a girl at church and accepting she could only be a close friend. In writing the track, we tried to highlight how big the little things are when in unrequited love. Self produced by Lara and Phoebe (under their moniker Middleman) sonically the track captures the nature of flip-flopping on decisions you don’t want to make and fates you don't want to accept.”
