Where are you? What are your immediate surroundings?

Currently in my bedroom; my camera is on the bed next to me, my ski bag is in the corner and I think half my wardrobe is on my floor.

What have you been doing/working on recently?

Well the other day I did a shoot with some fashion students from Curtin which was awesome fun. I also recently launched my website (georgiacieak.com) and I’ve got a few ideas in the works so watch this space, haha.

Please describe a typical day.

That's actually quite a hard one to answer because I’ve only been back in Perth for three months now. I worked as a ski instructor over in California for their winter season and didn't get a chance to do much photographic work because it was that full on. Since being back things have been pretty cruisy. My days recently consist of the odd photoshoot here and there, or hanging out with friends and making the most of free time while I have it.

How would you describe your work? And who (or what) are your biggest creative influences?

Without ever intending to, my images always end up on the more dark/dusky side. I think I’m just drawn to moodier imagery, it's much more interesting and emotive to me. I’m influenced by countless people and things all the time; I’ll be lurking on Instagram or tumblr or Soundcloud and see art or hear music that inspires me, even if it's work that is totally different from my style. If I had to name some photographers; Sally Mann, Nick Knight and Ta-ku.

Three favourite spots on the web to browse?

Tumblr, StumbleUpon, and YouTube.

What is something new you have noticed or learned recently?

That you are a different person to everyone you meet. Pretty sure that’s a quote from a book, but true and pretty trippy when you think about it.

What in your opinion makes a beautiful image? What elements need to exist in a moment for the image to be successful?

For me, beauty is in imperfection but also in mystery. If a photo intrigues me and makes me wonder if there are more where it came from then it's succeeded in my opinion.

What do you enjoy most about your hometown?

The best thing about Perth is that it's such a small world, it's hard to go out and meet anyone who has no mutual friends with you. Just the other day I rocked up to a shoot and the model happened to be a friend from high school, it was awesome. Once you’ve travelled a little bit, you realise how unique Perth is as a place to take photos. I love going out to find new places to shoot, and I can never say no to going out for a drink and a dance with my mates on the weekend.

Do you listen to music when you are shooting? Is it for you or the model?

It's definitely for both myself and the model. Music creates the best vibes for a shoot, it really lets everyone relax and have fun with the whole process.

What’s next? What have you got planned for the rest of the year and what do you want to achieve in the near future?

I’ve got big plans to move to Sydney quite soon to expand my networks and give something new a try. My goals for the moment are to find awesome creative people to collaborate with and make cool art.
