A Day With: HWLS
Shooting hoops and talkin' fruity loops with Ta-ku and Kit-Pop.
A Day With is an original documentary series we've been rolling out all year, where we get a personal, exclusive, behind-the-scenes look into the work of Australian musicians, artists and creative entrepreneurs that we admire. We spend some time in their homes, tourbuses, studios, shops, clubs, and fave hangouts, asking them questions, seeing the ins-and-outs of their work and play, and reminiscing on where it all began for them as creatives - and business people.
Late last year we spent a day hanging out with arguably Perth's most powerful production team of Kit-Pop and Ta-ku, together forming the bass music beast that is HWLS. We chilled with the two-some in their home studio and on the court, to get a bit of the backstory behind the HWLS project and how each artist compliments each other.
A Day With: HWLS. "We don't ...jam it out. We're not the kind of duo to be like "Hey, you feelin' this chord?" HWLS is the collaborative project of Australian producers Ta-ku and Kit Pop. Together they make dynamic, evolved club music, grounded by elements of progressive bass, and trap. Off-duty, their friendship runs deep. We spend a day with the duo: video games, Vietnamese, home studio history...and ball.
