Photo Diary: The Growlers give a behind-the-scenes look at their EU/US tour
Arriving with a new single, the tour diary gives us a taste of what to expect from the Cali rockers when they're here next month.

Ever since their 2009 debut Are You In or Out?, Californian rockers The Growlers have become one of the US west coast's most notorious names, combining swirling psych-rock leads with thick, varying influences in jazz, electronic and more giving them a unique edge amongst the rest. Their latest single Who Loves The Scum?, their first since their 2018 returning album Casual Acquaintances, sees them put this riff-filled sound in the spotlight, uniting hazy, sun-soaked guitar riffs with their charging vocals for a slice of DIY-tinged goodness. It was produced alongside The Strokes' frontman and past collaborator Julian Casablancas and the GRAMMY Award-winning Shawn Everett, only adding to its epicness, and it comes in a really exciting time for the band as they leap towards a big 2019 ahead, kicking off with an Australian tour early next year.
The east-coast run of dates will see the genre-blurring three-piece bring their trademark live explosiveness to our coasts for the first time in a long while, with local legends The Babe Rainbow, The Chats and Pist Idiots amongst a pretty heavy bunch of support acts - with plenty more to come. In celebration of the single and to give a bit of a teaser as to what to expect on their forthcoming dates, they've put together a nice collection of pictures from their US/EU run of shows earlier this year, with band photographer/cinematographer Taylor Bonin giving us an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at a band whose wailing surf-rock impresses time and time again. Check it all out below, with the dates and more info on their Australian shows at the end.

Brooks bobbing in a dead sea of blank eyes.
We all found out wheelchairs can go pretty fast. Brooks is testing the limit here.
A nice fan named Jenna always hands Brooks roses at the end of the show. They appreciate it.
Stopped by the Madonna Inn for a cocktail and swim before sound check.
O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London. Built in 1903. Very cool and very haunted.
