Live Sessions: Lilt - Take
Drift away with Perth electronic act Lilt in the cosy confines of Jimmy's Den.
Shot in beautiful and unexpected locations, Pile TV's monthly Live Sessions showcase the raw talent of artists we love. Intimate, stripped-back performances full of emotion and power. Most recently, we shared a stirring video of Australian vocalist Thelma Plum performing alongside grand piano, in a breath-taking Perth penthouse, and today, we're premiering a piece of content we filmed recently with Perth electronic act Lilt, at cosy new Perth venue Jimmy's Den. Fronted by songtress Louise Penman, Lilt's strength is in their pure, biting vocals, and powerful, intimate melodies, with Matt Mclean's textural synthetic production at their electronic soul.
They performed a version of their track Take, and in the footage we get a great look into their accomplished setup - vocals, synths and samplers, laptops, guitars, loops and hybrid acoustic electronic drums. Trained at Perth's highly prestigious music academy WAAPA, Louise and Matt's mastery of the craft results in shifting, dynamic, and beautifully soaring electronic music.
Keep your eye on these guys - their star is on the rise, with latest single Don't Tell Me making it to high rotation on Triple J, and a new NIDA/JJJ collaborative film clip due in September, as well as several singles forthcoming.
