Perth outfit San Cisco recently unveiled their fifth album Under The Light. With a helping hand from the likes of Pond's Nicholas Albrook and Jay Watson (Pond, GUM, Tame Impala) the album pushes San Cisco’s indie pop into new territory with strings and electro-house moves, tied together with the band's trademark high energy. The band's Jordi Davieson recently took us through some of his favourites on Australian Music Is Bloody Great.
Noah Dillon - Kenevil Daredevil
First up is a friend of mine named Noah Dillon. He’s written a song called Knievel Daredevil. It’s not his latest release but I love this song. I love what it’s about, a coming-of-age story. I love the melodies. I love Noah, he has beautiful blue eyes and is a wonderful performer and a creative young gentleman.
Royel Otis - Heading For The Door
This Is an act that is starting to make some pretty big waves in the Australian music industry, and probably internationally. Royel Otis have recently come on my radar, I think I’m late to the party to be honest. Their song Heading For The Door I can’t get out of my head. I love the way the tracks builds and how it’s actually quite simple. It’s just great melodies and it’s honest. A real earworm.
Banjo Lucia - Lion Boy
Another Freo (Freemantle) local, Banjo Lucia came on tour with us a couple of years ago now. She is a wonderful young lady and has an incredible voice and knack for songwriting. This song is called Lion Boy. I’m pretty sure it’s about her younger brother. The performance on this song, you feel it in your heart and in your soul.
Pond - Daisy
This is a track I’ve played on repeat for some time. I just love the chorus and the delivery. Nick Albrook (of Pond) is a wonderful young man who co-wrote our song Summer Days, which was a great experience to share. I hope that one day I can write a song like this.
San Cisco - Summer Days (Feat. Nicholas Allbrook)
This is our latest single and a band favourite of ours. Big thanks to Nick (of Pond) once again, he really brought something to the track I personally don’t think I could. It’s a special one, I hope you love it as much as we do.
