VB launch HARD YARDS 2018, offering emerging bands a chance to tour the east coast

A nice little leg-up for what is usually a very bloody expensive exercise.

Victoria Bitter have announced today the return of VB HARD YARDS for 2018 - a huge east coast tour that invites bands from ACT, QLD, NSW and VIC to apply to jump in a tour van for four huge shows in the month of October. It's a pretty great initiative, especially given how expensive it is for emerging local bands to be able to afford to get on the road, something Cosmic Psychos' Ross Knight knows all too well:

If you're from one of those territories, you can apply now via victoriabitter.com/hardyards, before audiences will be invited to vote on the shortlisted bands next month ahead of the lineup announcement in August. The winners will also receive $5K in cash and pre-paid rehearsal room hire. Entries close July 15, and you can have a little gander at what went down last year below:

TOUR DATES:

Wed 3 Oct - Northcote Social Club, Melbourne

Thu 4 Oct - The Foundry, Brisbane

Fri 5 Oct - The Cambridge, Newcastle

Sat 6 Oct - The Lansdowne, Sydney
