Tyler, The Creator banned from Australia?

Tyler, The Creator banned from Australia?

An Aussie feminist collective has potentially just had Tyler the Creator's VISA revoked.

It looks like a petition to keep Tyler, The Creator from performing in Australia has been successfully implemented. Today, Tyler the Creator announced he's been "banned in Australia", tweeting "you won" to the director of Australian feminist organisation Collective Shout. The current petition is to the Immigration Minister of Australia, asking to deny Tyler a Visa on the grounds that he fits the profile of a Controversial Visa Applicant.

The petition (that you can read in full HERE) currently has 1,589 signatures. It includes lyric samples:

“F*ck Mary in her ass.. ha-ha.. yo, I tell her it’s my house, give her a tour, In my basement, and keep that bitch locked up in my storage, Rape her and record it, then edit it with more sh*t”

"I just wanna drag your lifeless body to the forest, And fornicate with it but that’s because I’m in love with you…c*nt.”

A further excerpt contains their justification:

Our 2013 campaign against US misognyist pro-rape rapper Tyler the Creator was one of the most intense campaigns we’ve ever run. His incitement of violence towards one of our activists made headlines around the world and was cited when New Zealand Immigration authorities blocked his entry there last year. Tyler the Creator plans to return to Australia this September. Collective Shout has written to the Immigration Minister asking him to deny his visa. Let the Immigration Minister know where you stand. Read the letter and scroll down the page to add your name.

The group have petitioned successfully in the past to keep Odd Future out of New Zealand (read an article about that HERE), and they also petitioned to keep him him out of Australia, to which he responded by calling then-campaign organizer Talitha Stone a 'cunt' and 'fucking whore' at a show while she was in attendance. Watch video footage of that time, below:

Despite Tyler's firey tweets, promoters Frontier are denying it's all over for the rapper, as Frontier told Music Feeds:

“With respect to media reports that Tyler, The Creator’s visa has been refused, Frontier would like to advise that this is not the case."

If Frontier's correct, you can catch Tyler on the below dates:
