The JJJ Unearthed High artist to watch.

In the JJJ Unearthed High competition there are winners and then there are winners like Japanese Wallpaper and Snakadaktal. Acts who not only win the competition but stand the test of time. They achieve longevity, albeit it's a bit hard to measure Japanese Wallpaper just yet, in a time when bands often release a single stunning album only to never be able to follow it up. Lupa J, whose release Quiet Here we covered earlier this year, is another one of those artists with the potential to buck trends with singles like ArmourArmour has the feel of a song crafted at night, the careful drum beats, voices that roll in and out of coherence mimicking what Lupa J says and threatening to overwhelm her. And then slides in the sharp violin thrusts adding a unique sonic level, something we commented on in our review of Quiet Here. But the core of this song is the multi-layered approach Lupa J takes to her music, you don't hear everything there is to offer once you reach the first chorus. It becomes more than just wanting to hear the same again but that and the unknown.
