Basenji teams up with Tkay Maidza for an orchestral new single, Mistakes

The Sydney producer's second single for the year perfectly balances between banger and chill.

A few months back saw the return of Sydney producer Basenji, who re-emerged with his first single in almost two years in Don't Let Go, featuring Mereki. Now he's back bigger than ever before, teaming up with Australian hip-hop powerhouse Tkay Maidza for an orchestral new anthem in MistakesMistakes perfectly balances on that fine tightrope between chill and not-so-chill, with Basenji piecing together a twinkling production backdrop to Maidza's relaxed vocals, which gradually grow with the drumming beat underneath. The single really opens up in the chorus, where Basenji brings in an orchestral brass line which sweeps in underneath Maidza's restrained, pop-leaning vocals. It's a very fun and care-free single from the Australian production sweetheart, who continually keeps pushing boundaries in his echoing and vibrant productions. Listen to the track below, and be sure to stay tuned for a heap of new Basenji as we hit the summer and the new year.
