Hard to go past these lush tropical jams as Retiree drop a new EP.

 

Retiree are a four-piece out of Sydney that surfaced a few years ago after releasing a low key 12” on Plastic World in 2013. A collaboration between Rhythm Section and Plastic World means these talented boys will release a new EP next week called This Place, which manifests their more recent collection of avant-disco jams and sumptuous tropical grooves. This Place is their first international release and the EP is a juicy rhythmic beast, featuring three long and luxurious tracks. You cannot help but love these guys with such delicate vocals accompanying the rather casual, but intricate, grooves. At times Retiree boast an ambient electronic sound, and can just as easily move into swirling tropical guitar rhythms, supported by amazing percussive elements. The lush fullness of this EP is hard to look past, and the three long, sprawling tracks speak with their own distinct voice. You can stream This Place below:
