Premiere: The Kite Machine drop new single, Walls, ahead of debut album

The Geelong trio will release their self-titled debut album on March 15th.

With their self-titled debut album arriving around this time next month (March 15th), Geelong trio The Kite Machine are a band you should probably have on your radars right now, finding that middle ground between acts like Harts and Birds of Tokyo with their versatile, yet slightly nostalgia-ridden alt-rock sound. Over the last twelve months, the trio have continually grown and evolved with single after single - Sinister SoundMakeshifter and Paper Plains over 2018 - something they look set to continue to showcase on their debut album, which we've just got another tease of with its fourth single, WallsWalls sits somewhere between what we've heard from the album thus far, with a slight acoustic twang coming through the single's guitar-ridden instrumental that as the song continues, rises and falls with energy and ferocity, coming and going underneath the vocal which seemingly adds to the single's thickly-layered instrumental - not takes away from it.

"Walls’ paints the portrait of someone unable to break free of their own self-destructive construct, all the while losing touch with what’s real in the world around them," says the band on the single, which marries the past, present and future of the band - something that the larger album project sets out to cement. "This album represents The Kite Machine, past, present & future. We feel we’ve ushered in a new flavour of groove with a hard-hitting journey of pure rock. It's been a long time coming but we’re confident it will be worth the wait." Listen to Walls below:
