Southbound announce 2016 dates and extra night - Friday Night Fever

After a sell-out 2015, Southbound are adding extra party next year.

After a mammoth sell out 2015, the good folks behind Western Australia’s premiere music and camping festival, Southbound, have today announced the dates for their upcoming 2016 edition, and in doing so reveal an extra day of frivolity - Friday Night Fever. Friday Night Fever will give half of the festival patrons the opportunity to get their hands on a three-day camping ticket (there will be no single day tickets for this night), access to the site a day early and set up camp at a leisurely pace, before dancing the night away to a line-up of beat-selectors to be revealed in the coming weeks.

southbound 2016 dates 2

Southbound 2016 event dates are Friday 8, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 January.

Southbound 2015 experienced a few changes in a number of areas that were massive hits with festival goers, so we can expect more of the same, with some slight improvements:

They'll be keeping the capacity at 15,000 to ensure the quality of a boutique festival experience remains. Patrons will once again be able to set up camp next to their cars and have the option to bring camper vans, more shaded areas have been added around the site, and this year will see a large, circus-style tent providing shade at Base Camp.

The Wine and Champagne Bar returns offering more shade and a larger alfresco experience, along with the food trucks, The Coconut Club, the sandy dancefloor, sun beds, beach umbrellas and an endless stream of spiced rum and cola to cool your jets! The Craft Beer Bar is also set to expand, more shade, a full bar style menu, and more BEER.
