Jack Rabbit Slim's launches $1000 band comp - JAM-BOREE

Meet the four bands gunning for some of that sweet, sweet moolah.

If you're reading this and you have played or play in a band, you'll know how real the struggle is when it comes to making any kinda cash from it. Of course it's not all about the benjamins, you do it because you enjoy playing music with your mates, playing music to people (sometimes), and generally being the creative bastard you always dreamt you'd be before the real world came calling. Part and parcel with doing what you love means you get paid in pickles. I'm speaking from a place of experience, where if you got paid enough to cover the fuel for everyone to drive to the gig, along with a couple of jugs when you got there... well let's just say that's a bloody good night.

WA live music venue Jack Rabbit Slim's is trying to bring the costs down for everyone this Friday 1 April, with free entry to the venue to watch four promising young local bands duel it out for $1000 cold. Hard. Cash. The band who wins will be decided by you via a voting system. There'll also be a runner-up prize for best guitar solo over the course of the night. Plus a shitload of drink specials for the punters. So wins all round really. You can get all the info and more via the Facebook EVENT, and take a listen to what you can expect on the night below:
