Demon Days, Adrian Dzvuke, Felicity Groom + more: Meet your In The Pines 2020 lineup

Demon Days, Adrian Dzvuke, Felicity Groom + more: Meet your In The Pines 2020 lineup

Postponed from its usual date in April, the RTRFM favourite will push ahead at their infamous Somerville venue this October.

RTRFM 92.1's annual In The Pines Festival is somewhat of an institution for Perth's music scene; an event that'll tell you which local West Australian artists have broken out the year prior, and which ones are destined for spectacular year ahead. It's an event that showcases this regardless of genre confinements; focusing on the depths of Perth's musical talent and how it stretches from smooth, soulful jazz and emotionally potent indie-folk right through to charging hip-hop and thick electronica, each genre niche represented by heavyweights that really solidify local talent.

The event usually takes place in April at their infamous Somerville Auditorium home (amongst the pines, hence the name, of the University of Western Australia), and this year looked set to be no different as they announced a lineup at the start of the year; acts including Demon Days, Grievous Bodily Calm, Miss Genius, Southern River Band and Shy Panther littered amongst rising stars including Adrian Dzvuke, Hi, Ok Sorry, New Nausea, Nika Mo and more.

However, as you could probably guess, the festival didn't happen as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving an In The Pines-shaped hole in the West Australian live music calendar that felt sorely missed come around April. However, with the brunt of coronavirus eased off in Perth, they're re-focusing on delivering the festival in October, with RTRFM 92.1 today announcing that the event will try again - second time lucky, hopefully - on Sunday, October 18th.

The rescheduled event carries much of the original lineup, albeit for a few replacements due to scheduling conflicts and other matters. Drowning Horse and Southern River Band are the two major omissions, but luckily Bolt Gun and Soukouss Internationale have stepped up to fill their place, alongside the original lineup which in addition to the aforementioned names, also included Felicity Groom, Old Blood, Verge Collection and others.

You can take a dive into the full lineup and further details below, and you can head over to Oztix to grab a ticket and/or donate to RTRFM now
