Soulection king Kaytranada and Chicago rap up'n'comer Vic Mensa, whose in our country right now playing Laneway Festival, have put out a second collaboration, chasing up their last joint together, Wimme Nah.
Vic Mensa shows off his lyrical ability on this shimmering release, and his vocal versatility, switching it up between forthright rapping on the verses and gentle singing for the chorus. Kaytranada drops his usual galloping beats for something that’s more aligned with the left-field beat work of say... well, Lapalux comes to mind.
Drive Me Crazy will be a single on Kaytranada’s forthcoming debut on XL Recordings, and should slip pretty nicely into your summer poolside playlist. We recently got deep with the rising rapper from the Save Money collective.
