Premiere: Yoko-Zuna unveil thumping new single 'Voltron' ahead of BIGSOUND next week

The New Zealand four-piece are bringing some heavy live electronica to Brisbane.

A couple of months back we introduced you to Auckland-based hip hop/electronic outfit Yoko-Zuna, and they're very much about to be all up in Australia's face next week as they descend on BIGSOUND. To mark the ocassion they've given us a sneak peek at their first new track in just under a year with Voltron - a stomping piece of electronica, performed and recorded live by the group, and the first cut from their upcoming debut album. There's a reason they've been creating plenty of buzz around their homeland, and we're really excited to see them ply their wares down here at BIGSOUND, where they're playing a few different showcases. Check it all out a below, along with a short interview with the guys to find out what we can expect:

On their upcoming appearance at BIGSOUND and what we can expect from their live shows:

We're absolutely stoked to bring our show to Australia for the first time. BIGSOUND is such an awesome opportunity, and we feel really lucky that we are performing here, and especially for our first international performances. The Yoko-Zuna live show combines all our different styles and influences, and is basically lots of energy and shenanigans on stage.

On new single, Voltron?

Voltron definitely favours our more electronic side and is possibly our heaviest track to date. This is a track that went off at the festivals we performed at over the past 12 months which was a bit of a surprise, so figured why not turn into a single.

Any plans to head back to Australia later in the year?

We would love to! Australia has definitely been kind to us recently, and we hope we can returning the favour and see some other parts of the country!
