Premiere: Moon Holiday drops lush new single, Make This Real

Some months ago we ran a little piece on the awesome female producers currently slaying it in our country right now, and Alex Ward AKA Moon Holiday was one of them. We've been in love with Moon Holidays' luscious electronic soundscapes for a while now, and so we're beyond proud today to premiere her new single, Make This Real, which you can stream after a few catch up questions:

Hey Alex, congrats on the new single. Can you tell us a bit about it?

Hey, thanks! Make This Real is about being a shut-in, realising you haven’t opened yourself up for a while. Longing for what we think of as ‘real life’.

It's from the upcoming (II) Life EP, that will include Rid U and Prince - any more coming before the Sept 3 release?

It’ll be the last one released on its own before the whole EP comes out with five tracks in total, and yeah that’ll include Rid U and Prince. It’s great to get it out, these things can take such a long time!

You’re part of the Astral People fam - how's it been working with those peeps, they seem like a good bunch of eggs?

Working with Astral People is brilliant! Some real nice free-range eggs, cruelty free. Even with all their successful ventures, like Outside In and some big acts on their books, I really feel like they take their chance on stuff that isn’t necessary going to make a lot of money straight away. Business is one thing, but it feels so great to be part of something that runs on the love of it, genuinely. They’re also just fun and funny guys and a lot of their artists are friends of mine, so every Astral event is like a big social club.

Who else is doing some cool stuff electronically in Australia you're excited about?

I’m really into what Rainbow Chan and Kučka are up to, as well as old mate Cassius Select and his new project Fake, Thomas William / T. Morimoto, the ever-expanding projects of Marcus Whale and my all-time Australian favourite act, HTRK.

Can we expect any live shows soon to celebrate the new EP?

I’ll be playing Astral Peoples’ 4th Birthday party in a few weeks (more info HERE) and then it’s up to the future to decide. I’m focusing on new material because this current EP was finished quite a while ago now.
