Ninajirachi signs to NLV Records with new single, Pathetic

The Naah-featuring single arrives as the first tease of her upcoming debut EP Lapland - expected out later this year.

Ever since breaking out as one of the young-guns from triple j's Unearthed High competition, NSW musician Ninajirachi has established herself as one of the country's most unique and forward-thinking names in electronic, whether it's through her own bubbly singles, remixes for Flight Facilities and Kilter, or collaborations such as Nina Las Vegas' banging Thursdays. With her edgy, left-field production style and her knack for crafting eclectic electronic and pop music, her just-announced signing to the ever-futuristic NLV Records makes perfect sense as the label's ethos of releasing inventive and boundary-pushing singles from names such as Swick, Kota Banks, Lewis Cancut and the aforementioned label-head Nina Las Vegas perfectly aligns with Ninajirachi's sound - something demonstrated on her first release through the label, Pathetic. Teaming up with Swedish vocalist Naah, Pathetic is a dazzling pop single marked by Ninajirachi's signature club twist, uniting Naah's floating vocal with Nina's restrained, dripping production which is about as bright and refreshing as it is unique and innovative.

"Naah sent me a message on Soundcloud around October last year saying she had written a song with some friends and would like to collaborate on it," says Ninajirachi on the single, which is the first tease of her upcoming debut EP Lapland expected later this year. "I don’t usually meet collaborators in this way, but her music/voice is super nice and I loved everything about Pathetic. She is based in Stockholm, so she sent me stems with which to build the track and we emailed back and forth. When she first hit me up I was mid-HSC exams, so I was pretty slack on replies/music and I didn’t finish the song until around February, but I really love how it came together in the end."

Dive into the single below, make sure you catch Ninajirachi at any of the following dates below that, and be sure to keep an eye out for the budding musician as she marks her place as one of Australian electronic's most exciting - particularly under the ever-brilliant guidance of NLV Records and Nina Las Vegas.
